PulsePoint Names Emilia Sherifova Chief Technology Officer
New York, NY (May 20, 2013) – PulsePoint, an award winning content creation and media technology company, has appointed Emilia Sherifova as Chief Technology Officer. In this position, Emilia will play a key role in shaping PulsePoint’s technology strategy as the company embarks on its next phase of growth. She will focus driving scale across key business units, including the company’s social publishing platform, proprietary ad exchange and industry leading audience-targeting tools. Emilia is also charged with developing new ways to leverage the big data gained from PulsePoint’s billions of daily transactions, while helping advertisers and publishers gain greater audience transparency.
A technology veteran with over 15 years of experience, Emilia formerly held the position of Chief Information Officer at OTC Markets Group Inc., one of the leading OTC equities electronic trading platforms. She was instrumental in transforming OTC Markets Group into one of the preeminent electronic marketplaces during a time where the financial markets were transformed from trading desks to electronic trading. Her deep knowledge of the Financial markets and their dependencies on data, content and analytics, which are now core to the advertising industry, will help PulsePoint leapfrog competitors in the space and introduce new standards for ad exchanges.
Prior to joining OTC Markets Group, Emilia held technology management positions at several large organizations including the Soros Foundation and the American Civil Liberties Union. Early in her career, she was a founding member of GoRefer.com, a startup consumer intelligence platform.

Emilia will be reporting to Sloan Gaon, PulsePoint CEO and will lead a team of 50 across software development, technology operations and infrastructure, quality assurance, systems engineering, data management and data science groups.
She holds a graduate degree with a concentration in International Business and Finance from Columbia University as well as an advanced certification in software development from New York University.
