The PulsePoint Trader Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who are advancing programmatic healthcare advertising. Our inductees are skilled and dedicated traders who demonstrate their expertise in using PulsePoint’s Life platform. They ensure that lifesaving medications and services reach healthcare professionals and patients precisely at the right moments to drive meaningful results.
This month, PulsePoint is thrilled to welcome Christian Palmeri, Programmatic Specialist at Butler/Till, to the Trader Hall of Fame.
Christian describes his road to programmatic marketing as unique; namely one filled with a lot of learning and realizing what careers weren’t interesting to him. Christian studied both accounting and sports management. While his education didn't directly teach him the art of programmatic media buying, it equipped him with valuable skills, including how to tackle new challenges and quickly learn new things.
“I realized that accounting was really not for me, but marketing was the department that I always gravitated toward,” Christian said.
It was his passion and interest in marketing that made him fill out the application to an open programmatic role at Butler/Till.
“My first reaction was like, what the heck is programmatic? But I went into it with an open mind, and got a call to come in for an interview,” he said.
The rest is history. Christian landed the job, accepted the offer, and has been with Butler/Till for over two years. Now, Christian is generating win after win for the agency. In fact, most recently he led a test of programmatic ads on PulsePoint’s expanded EHR health system inventory.
“It performed so well that initially it was just a test that was going to run until October, but it recently has been expanded to the end of the year,” Christian said.
Christian explained that the best part of his job is that it keeps him on his toes. Every day there’s a new challenge to overcome or a change that will impact campaigns. “It’s never boring around and in programmatic," he said.
Outside of consistently finding solutions to improve campaigns and problem solve, Christian said that he also loves working with data, numbers, and statistics. What he enjoys most about programmatic advertising is that it’s very similar to fantasy football, where you look at who’s playing well, what statistics matter, and what deals you can make to boost performance.
“I’ve always been drawn to looking at numbers like that and making decisions based off of those,” he explained.
Christian also appreciates his team and professional experience at Butler/Till. “I love the environment here and the culture that they have. Everyone around here is super nice.”
The healthcare marketing and programmatic landscape is consistently evolving with new best practices, new channels, and new data for you to analyze. Because of this, Christian’s advice to traders entering the field is to stay agile, adopt a data-driven mindset, and be open to learning new things regularly.
“This is especially important in programmatic because things are always changing, so you have to be really quick on your feet,” he said, explaining that newcomers must be ready to make optimizations and adjustments based on real-time data.
In recent months, he read something in a self-development post that has stuck with him, which is to “be present in the moment.” Christian said this advice has helped him improve both personally and professionally.
“I’m very much a goal-oriented person, which means that sometimes I look too far ahead that I get a bit anxious and I’m not able to enjoy the moment,” he said.
He went on to explain that the more comfortable you get being present in the moment, the more you’re going to remain calm, enjoy the wins, and trust your instincts to excel both personally and professionally.
Christian spends a lot of time analyzing campaign performance in the PulsePoint platform, so he’s particularly appreciative of its robust built-in reporting capabilities. In particular, he mentioned that he loves the metrics that users can see in the dashboard, including reach, frequency, and granular NPI data.
“I love all of the metrics PulsePoint can report on, but I've really fallen in love with the clinical insights dashboard. It’s really cool to be able to see things like script lift,” Christian said.
In addition to the platform reporting capabilities, Christian also values the PulsePoint team’s responsiveness, willingness to listen, and speed of innovation.
“I love our reps there. I love working with them. They are always available, they are always open to feedback … and always answer my questions,” he said, adding that he’s impressed with the consistent feature upgrades and releases.
“Any time I’m on a status call with PulsePoint, they’re introducing a new feature or have an update coming down the pipe, which is always really nice,” he said.
Christian’s interests and hobbies lie in four main buckets: basketball, fashion, music, and fitness. On any given day, you’ll find him playing in a rec basketball league, cheering on the Lakers, living an active lifestyle, diving into the world of fashion, learning to play guitar, and, most recently, listening to Justin Bieber’s “Swag II” album.
When we asked if he can play any Justin Bieber songs on the guitar, his answer was, not quite yet. Though if learning guitar is anything like his ability to learn programmatic healthcare marketing, we know it won’t be long until he’s on stage playing “Yukon.” (Dibs on front-row tickets.)
Please join me in extending the biggest congratulations to Christian, the October 2025 inductee into the PulsePoint Trader Hall of Fame.
